Hello fellow Anthropocenians,
How are you today? I hope it’s been a good week for you. Yesterday I took part in a chess tournament in Getafe. I ended up with 3.5 points out of 8. I had clear winning positions in six of the eight games, and should have finished with at least 5 points, but having established leads I promptly threw three of the games away. Frustrating, but as noted philosopher as Julian Casablancas tells us, ‘life ain’t chess’.
This Wednesday on Anthropocene we were blessed with an evocative, orgiastic prose poem by N.K. Woods.
Earlier today we featured three poems by Duncan Wiese, translated from their original Danish by Sam Riviere and Max Minden Ribeiro.
3 things i’ve enjoyed this week
Robert Herrick - so sweet, alluring and flush with love
I Will Show You The Life Of The Mind (on prescription drugs) by the naturally brilliant SJ Fowler
Lee Harwood’s selected poems (recommended to me by natural brilliance’s Blossom Hibbert)
That’s it from me, have a lovely Sunday evening,
Charlie
